Rita Anderson Animal Activist Interview

When finding ideas for the design I knew I wanted to have clear, clean, and fresh mindset to evolve as the viewers read the interview. I made some thumbnails that including an easy to read layout and while also incorporating some digital illustrations. My torn edges of my papers are usually a result of tearing out my paper to quickly jot down a design or my rabbits nibbling on it when I sit with them on the floor.
When sorting out my thumbnails into sketches I chose the ones that incorporated more illustration rather than a more typographic layout. I was leaning more towards the "LEAVES!!" than the other illustrations to give off a more natural and in-tune with nature look. I also was starting to see what type of animals I wanted to picture within this interview. A monkey being one of them.

Finally it was time for rendering.
I immediately found the monkey image that I had to use and began surrounding them with sharp earthy spikes but then decided to change my whole color palette into something more green. I illustrated the leaves I wanted to use as well as the logo for this website I was creating. From there I kept revising and editing until I came out with my final piece.

If I had to choose one thing to be left on the Earth with it would be the animals. I am very passionate about animal welfare and environmental activism. The Earth needs the animals and we need both of them. When I came across this interview I knew I had to spice it up a notch. Bring in the ties to nature and animals, including ourselves. I found images of animals in the industries that Anderson mentioned as well as some extra ones that are frequently abused. I made the website layout have a donate button since I imagined a page showcasing this interview might be an animal rescue organization. One of my favorite parts was creating the logo for the page that shows the tight relationship between humans and animals.
