The integration of typography into these posters proved to be an intriguing and creatively fulfilling endeavor. The overarching objective in crafting this trio of posters was twofold: to disseminate positive affirmations and sustain a consistent impression throughout each piece.
YOU ARE REAL NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY.
The process of creating this poster was quite unique. The mask itself underwent a transformation shaped by the contours of my own face. This personalized touch adds a distinctive and intimate dimension to the visual narrative. The typography, deliberately hand-crafted, further enhances the organic feel of the design. Each letter is thoughtfully and somewhat haphazardly inscribed onto the curved surface of the mask. This deliberate choice contributes to the overall aesthetic, ensuring that the type seamlessly melds with the visual elements while maintaining a sense of authenticity and individuality.
REGAIN YOUR REFLECTION.
The whole idea that started the journey to create these series of posters was my dermatographia. A skin condition that will create hives on the body depending on where you put the pressure. I knew that if I could combine my body with my designs it would become more personable and improve the quality of my work. In order to make the series recognizable I made sure to use the hand-made type and light colors to keep everything in sync.
HOWL IN THE RAIN.
The last poster in the series yet just as important. The first two affirmations were dealing more with the self. Knowing YOU are real and YOU can regain your reflection. However, in this poster it is more about expressing yourself. Howling in the rain, screaming at the dripping sky, and smelling the beautiful plants and surrounding nature. I wanted to incorporate every aspect of this by using plants from my garden, my mountainous landscape, and even the animals that roamed the land. The skull and mandible pieces used to make the o and e represented life and death. Together the overall meaning for all of the posters became more fresh and natural.
